At the Ballarat Wildlife Park, koalas Mr Snooze and his mum Jemma are all set to receive an extra branch of yummy leaves on Wednesday.
Ballarat Wildlife Park curator Julia Leonard said Santa would visit all the animals and hopefully leave them something extra to feast on for the day.
“The wombats will get some extra carrots and the crocodile might get
a big snapper or something,” she said.
Ms Leonard said the Wildlife Park was closed on Christmas Day this year, however it would be open for the rest of the holiday period.
She expected the park to be busy right through the period as tourists start to enjoy their summer holidays, although the hot weather might push numbers down.
“Hopefully it won’t be too hot but we do have interactive shows throughout the Christmas holidays,” she said.
“If it gets too hot, we do put sprinklers on for the animals. We have shady spots where we can bring the animals out.”
