Ballarat residents may have noticed the Red Kite cards which cover the front windows of the Victoria Street store.
Each customer is asked to spend $2 on a card while checking out with their groceries and the card is then placed in the window of the store.
Red Kite is a charity which aims to raise money for young people with cancer and their families. Store manager John Martino said he was delighted with the results of the campaign so far.
“Coles have taken this charity on nationally,” he said.
“As a team and with our customers this store has donated a bit over $4000 so far.
“Myself and the team are pushing it and we are number one in the region for our support with Red Kite.”
Anyone interested in supporting the charity can buy a card at any Coles checkout and place it in the window.
