The Freemasons have raised money throughout the year through packing and selling canned goods from Shepparton, before passing on the proceeds.
Last week, the group gave $1000 to Anglicare, after donating to the 3BA Christmas Appeal, the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre and the Soup Bus.
Handing over the money to Anglicare, Freemason brother Charlie Pruis said he did not want to see kids from around the region without presents this Christmas.
“It’s fantastic seeing what’s happening here at Anglicare and seeing that families can have a brighter Christmas because of it.”
Brother Alan Glasson said the lodge was raising $500 to give to the charities, and the Board of Benevolence Grand Lodge in Melbourne had been doubling it.
Western Victoria Anglicare manager Geoff Ryan said Anglicare would not exist without the support of the community.
