Jasmine, who did not want her last name disclosed, died from neuroblastoma last month, leaving behind her five-year-old daughter Shania.
Jasmine’s friend Kylie Emmerson helped organise fundraisers during the past six months to help ensure Shania’s financial future, raising nearly $22,000.
A letter released to The Courier this week said: “Jasmine, Shania and family would like to thank anyone who helped in any way towards the fundraisers that were organised for them”.
It went on to particularly thank Ms Emmerson for her “immense kindness”.
“All the thought, time and hard work that Kylie and her husband Chris have put into organising the fundraisers is greatly appreciated and we cannot thank them enough.
“We would also like to congratulate Kylie and Chris on how exceptionally well these events were organised.”
Jasmine also wanted to thank the 95 businesses, stallholders and photographers, who donated to the fundraisers.
Jasmine was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2009, aged just 23.
