Geelong's Adam Lasky is the number one seed in the men's open singles for the three-day event, while Caroline McGann, also of Geelong, heads the women's open singles field.
Barwon is the defending champion and is chasing a sixth title in a row and 23rd championship in the 58th edition of the event.

Experienced Warrnambool player Matt Moloney is the third seed with Bairnsdale's Aiden Fitzgerald, who is originally from Bendigo, making up the leading quartet.
Maloney and Fitzgerald have each played for the Country All-Stars in the Tennis Victoria Premier League pennant competition.
Shepparton's Hope Curtis-Donald is the open women's second seed ahead of Sarah O'Keefe from Warrnambool, and Geelong's Romona Mataruga.
