The 25-year-old said the win was the first time in two years of running at Victorian meetings he had progressed further than the heats.
Sinclair competed at Daylesford after campaigning at summer carnivals in Tasmania over the holiday period.
David Fenollar finished second in the gift and Shaun Fletcher third.
