The chosen tracks were Gold Fields' Closest I Could Get, Happy Boy, Ice, Meet My Friends, Thunder and You're Still Gone, all from band's debut album Black Sun.
Gold Fields frontman Vin Andanar said the band wouldn't get its hopes up about making the top 100 but hoped fans would support them nonetheless.
"We're very grateful that triple j play our songs and they've been really good to us with anything we've released. Without them we'd be doing something completely different," Andanar said.
"It's been good to see our followers on Twitter and Instagram voting for us. Having that support on social media is pretty cool."
Last year, the five-piece band toured the US and appeared on talk shows Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Call with Carson Daly.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were voted number one in last year's Hottest 100 for their single Thrift Shop, while Gotye came first a year before that with Somebody That I Used To Know.
Voting for the Hottest 100 2013 is open until January 20. Voters can choose any songs, even if they don't appear on the list.
