Cycling nationals: criterium set to thrill big crowd in Ballarat's CBD tonight

WHILE the excitement surrounding the appearance in Cadel Evans MARS Cycling Australia Road National Championships road race is at fever pitch, the criterium titles in Sturt Street is sure to be action packed.

An estimated 6000 packed the CBD last year to see Cameron Meyer in a successful solo breakaway.

With a maximum 26 degrees forecast for today, it promises to be another huge evening of racing.

4:30pm: U23 Men’s Criterium (33km – 30 x 1.1km laps)

5:30pm: Elite and U23 Women’s Criterium (33km – 30 x 1.1km laps)

7:00pm: Elite Men’s Criterium (44km – 40 x 1.1km laps)
