CROWDS have swarmed to Ballarat today for two big recitals as part of the second day of the Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields Festival.

Having opened to a packed St Patrick's Cathedral last night filled with 620 people, crowds people have again flocked to Her Majesty's Theatre and St Paul's Anglican Church today.
At St Paul's this morning, queues extending out the door and extra seating was required for the performance of soloists Catherine Lukin (soprano), Wendy Galloway (violin), Jeanette Carnie (cello) and Brendon Lukin (organ).
Hundreds of people then turned up for a performance by Master at the Compton Organ Tony Fenelon at Her Majesty's Theatre at 3pm.
Festival publicist Judy Houston said the nine-day festival could not have started any better and the numbers of people turning up was completely unexpected.
"It's off to a perfect start at the moment, we've been extremely happy," she said. "The performances have really been world class and if the audience is happy, then we are happy.
"Tonight will see Jennifer Chou perform at Ballarat Central Uniting Church, with recitals to be held every day until Sunday week.The festival will finish on January 19, with another recital at St Patrick's Cathedral at 8pm
