Crowds flock to Lavandula Harvest Festival

A beautiful day and bright sunshine attracted more than 1000 visitors to Lavandula’s Harvest Festival last Sunday.

The crowd exceeded the expectations of the festival’s operators, with many on return visits.

“One couple travel from Darwin every year,” Lavandula marketing and public relations officer Jack Larm said.

The festival has been running for more than 20 years and was “getting stronger and stronger”,  Mr Larm said.

Lavender farm owner Carol White has painstakingly restored many of the original buildings which add to the attraction of the farm.

The five acres of lavender is harvested this time every year and made into products on site.
