Happy Sunday Ballarat.
Blue skies and sunshine greeted the city this morning, with a forecast top of 23 degrees. But make the most of it, Ballarat will see showers tomorrow morning.
POLICE
Ballarat Police experienced a busy night around town.
Around 5pm police arrested a 33-year-old Wendouree man after crashing an unregistered motorbike into a stationary police car yesterday afternoon.
Reports suggest the man was travelling down the wrong side of Gillies St, Wendouree, and almost caused a crash.
He was also spotted travelling around Lake St, before side swiping the stationary police car on the corner of Margaret and Norman St, Wendouree.
The man was arrested and is pending summons.
Police also charged a 17-year-old Ballarat woman with drink driving, after being pulled over on Sim St, Black Hill around 5am this morning.
The learner driver recorded a BAC of 0.066. She was charged with drink driving and unsupervised driving. She received two penalty notices.
FIRE
Ballarat City Fire was also kept busy overnight.
Around 8.40pm crews were called to Princes St, Ballarat East after reports of smoke spilling from a house.
Shortly after fire crews investigated reports of a bonfire in a suburban backyard.
At 4.13am this morning, crews were called to a grass fire off Yendon Number Two Road, near the Midland Hwy in Buninyong.
AMBULANCE
Ambulance Victoria attended to no jobs involving trauma in Ballarat overnight.
SES
SES crews were called to Urquhart Park Primary School on Inkerman St, after a burst pipe caused the school grounds to flood around 7pm last night.
