The Gold Ace amongst 17 nominations for Ballarat Pacing Cup

STAR New Zealander The Gold Ace is one of 17 horses in line for Ballarat Pacing Cup riches following the close of nominations this morning.

The Shepparton and Cranbourne cups champion looks as though he will chase further country feature race success in the group 1 event on Saturday night.

Champion Smoken Up was one of five horses nominated by trainer Lance Justice, while Smythes Creek trainer Emma Stewart holds the hopes of a local victory with Restrepo and Metro Mike amongst the possible starters.

The final field and barrier draw will be declared at a special Ballarat and District Trotting Club breakfast tomorrow morning.
