Newly-appointed coach James Robinson will train the squad four nights a week and the Red Devils will be a dominant force.
“I have been told that there are a few Ballarat boys that currently play with local clubs ... I am looking forward to them coming and trying to lift their level to be considered to step up,” Robinson said.
“We have had a good couple of weeks on the training track so far and I am pleased with the way things are moving along. There is a long way to go but it is very positive.”
Football Federation Victoria announced yesterday it had received 38 team applications for the Victorian National Premier League after the deadline passed on Monday afternoon.
Ten teams will likely miss out the two-tier NPL division, with each tier accepting a maximum of 14 teams.
Red Devils chairman Duncan Smith said he was confident Ballarat would make the top 28.
“I am quietly confident of getting an NPL license because we meet over and above the criteria,” Smith said.
The tryouts will occur on January 25 between 10am-12pm.
