The Ballarat trainer moved further ahead of Peter Moody thanks to wins by Trust In A Gust, First Bloom and Akzar, which won on debut for the stable.
Weir actually claimed four winners for the day, with Jenibec successful at Hamilton in the afternoon.
Trust In A Gust's win was the highlight for Weir, with the three-year-old colt securing another leg of the lucrative VOBIS Gold Super Premier Series.
The triumph was the horse's fourth in a row and takes his earnings to more than $420,000 from just nine starts, without a stakes grade victory.
Weir has a good chance to extend his lead in the metro premiership with four runners at today's Caulfield meeting.
