SHOCK news from the Ballarat Cricket Association last night that long-serving secretary Don Jacobsson is retiring.

The BCA stated that Jacobsson submitted his notice yesterday afternoon owing to health reasons.
A BCA statement said: "Don has been a long and trusted servant of not only the Ballarat Cricket community, but also cricket overall giving in total 46 years of service in playing, umpiring and administration."
Jacobsson has been secretary since 1995-96.
He had a long distinguished playing career with Golden Point and also umpired for many years.
Jacobsson was named as a top order bastman in the Golden Point team of the century, having played 176 first eleven matches for 4624 at an average of 27.3 runs.
