Ballarat Gold swims its way into top five at Vic Country titles

HAYLEY Tucker and Joshua Brien have played key roles in Ballarat Gold's top five finish in the Victorian Country Swimming Championships at Wodonga.

Each picked up three individual gold medals in the three-day meet.

Gold president Anthony Hoffmann praised the efforts of every club comnpetitor.

He said this was a significant result for Ballarat Gold.

"Swimming is an individual sport, especially with the major events, but the country championships are and will always be about being a team, and performing at a high level not as individuals but as a team."

Hoffmann said fifth was the result of an excellent team effort.

Shogo Trevena, of Ballarat Swimming Club, also won three gold medals.
