Her condition was changed to stable around midday after being flown to the hospital on Wednesday in a serious condition.
The girl was walking to school when she was hit by a car about 8.30am on Wednesday at the corner of Vickers and Rowland streets.
The vehicle was forced to swerve to avoid hitting another vehicle and instead ended up hitting the girl and a nearby house.
She received multiple injuries including fractures to the legs, jaw, head and back as a result of the incident.
The girl’s schoolbag was thrown onto the roof of the house as a result of the impact.
Police yesterday urged drivers to take care on the roads after the incident occurred.
The incident occurred as school children across the country returned for the first term of the school year.
The Courier understand Phoenix College are offering counselling to students at the school.
