First year students living on campus moved in to their new home on Friday before a weekend of fun, bonding and learning to navigate around Ballarat.
Yesterday the students took a bus into town, where residential advisors gave them the tips of where to go, before an afternoon of activities at Major League Indoor Sports Centre.
Residential advisor Lauren Marion said they’d done beach volleyball, laser tag, hip hop dancing, bubble soccer and eight ball.
The students are a sea of coloured t-shirts, with colours identifing their residential hall or position.
It is Ms Marion’s fourth year on campus and third year as a residential advisor.
She said she had lots of fun and loved the convenience of living on campus.
Chelsea McMahon is one of the many first years who has enjoyed her first weekend in her new home and city.
From Portland, Ms McMahon said she didn’t want to move to a big city like Melbourne so she chose Ballarat.
Campus life co-ordinator Colin Marshall said there were 750 on campus students in Ballarat with 400 in their first year.
