Ballarat breakfast report: March 3

Ballarat Police Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) will investigate a burglary from a commercial business on Howitt Street in Wendouree this morning.

About 5am two hooded offenders are believed to have stolen items from the store.

At this stage, police are unsure of what has been stolen.

It seems the summer weather does not want to leave Ballarat anytime soon, with temperatures soaring into the high 20s for most of the week.

Today we can expect a sunny top of 29 degrees, followed by a top of 29 degrees on Tuesday.

Ballarat City and Wendouree fire crews attended to a small grass and scrub fire at Morang Crescent in Mitchell Park around 10pm last night. The fire was extinguished shortly after crews arrived.

Nothing to report overnight.

Crews removed a few trees that had fallen across roads in the backstreets of Hepburn and Stawell last night.
