The Pink Ladies were there, as was a very young Sandy and hundreds of others, to watch a Twilight Cinema screening of the classic musical from the seventies at Fairyland.
The crowd joined in the chorus of much loved songs like Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You and Greased Lightning, revving up before the grand finale of You’re the One That I Want. Chills were multiplying even though the autumn weather was quite balmy.
Two of the Pink Ladies towards the front of the audience were Voice FM pair Narelle Fairweather and Belinda Price.
They admitted last night was not the first time they had donned the pink jackets to sing along with Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta and co.
“We’re missing a couple (of Pink Ladies) but there are other groups of Pink Ladies around here too,” Ms Fairweather said.
“We will be singing along for sure, we love it,” Ms Price added. “I saw Grease the Musical last year and we do this every month or so.”
The Twilight Cinema by Lake Wendouree was presented by United Way Ballarat, The Ballarat Foundation and The Courier Charity Fund.
