The Dean-Newlyn Young Farmers sold 330 of their calendars for $15 each.
The Newlyn-Dean, Smeaton and Kingston CFA branches will each receive more than $1000.
“We had an initial print run of 180 and they sold out on our launch night at the Smeaton Hotel on November 29,” DNYF secretary and one-off calendar girl Skye Vermaas said.
“So we did a second run of 150 and they sold out by the end of the year.
“We sold calendars across Australia, from Caboolture in Queensland, to Western Australia, Hobart and quite a few in outback NSW as well.
“Our original plan was to sell a few around Ballarat and raise as much money as we could, but after it appeared in The Courier and on TV it just exploded.”
The calendars featured nine DNYF members in a variety of cheeky poses.
It was one of the club’s most successful community fundraisers to date, comparable with its response to the Black Saturday bushfires when two semi-trailer loads of hay were collected from farmers in the district.
“The other great thing about the calendars was we actually boosted our membership on the night at the Smeaton Hotel to about 50,” Ms Vermaas said.
“We are now at a membership level that we can actually put back into the community rather than spending our time chasing up numbers.”
The DNYF’s annual Spuds n’ Stunners membership drive and fundraiser is on April 5 at the Dean Hall and Mechanics Institute.
The social event will include a mechanical bull, along with music until midnight.
Tickets are $20 on the night or $30 including annual DNYF membership.
