Ballarat breakfast report: March 28

WEATHER

It looks like today will be a better day than yesterday with a top of 24 degrees predicted.

However, we are not totally free from the rain with a chance of showers later this afternoon.

The all important weekend looks like producing more of the same. Rain is a chance for Saturday with a top of 25 degrees, with Sunday producing a high of 26 degrees.

POLICE

It was a quiet night for Ballarat Police with nothing of interest to report.

However, police are at the scene of a serious accident just north of Colac this morning.

The accident is believed to have happened on the Colac-Ballarat road near Ondit.

It is believed a truck has collided with a cyclist.

AMBULANCE

Nothing to report from local paramedics overnight.

FIRE

It was a busy night for fire crews but all of their call-outs were to false alarms.

Crews attended four false alarms throughout the night.

SES

Stawell and Ararat crews were called to the aid of a injured bushwalker near Halls Gap late yesterday.

Around 17 SES members were needed to assist the bushwalker who had hurt his ankle.

TRAINS

V/Line's website is reporting good service for the Ballarat line. However, it appears the 5.08  service from Bacchus Marsh was completely cancelled earlier this morning.
