More than 1000 people limbered up at Victoria Park for Ballarat’s first Rainbow Run.
The runners, all of whom donned white t-shirts, were left covered from head to toe in the colours of the rainbow as they took on the 5km track.
With pumping music and a carnival atmosphere, the Rainbow Run aims to bring together fun and fitness, with teams of Rainbow Run employees dousing the competitors with colourful dye.
Father and daughter combo, Mark and Hayley Griffin, said the chance to have some fun while exercising was a great match.
“I haven’t ran in about a year,” Mr Griffin said with a laugh.
“But it was absolutely worth it ... just a great atmosphere and great fun.”
Organiser Anthony Marchesani said it was the first event for Rainbow Run and the turnout had been great.
“It’s just about fun,” he said.
“To combine some fitness and some fun is what its all about.”
He said the Rainbow Run would return to Ballarat.
In the meantime, the run travels to other regional towns.
