Pittman will step put in the women's 400-metre handicap.
Fresh from representing Australia in the two-person bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics, Pittman is using Stawell as a launching pad towards the 2016 Olympic Games.
"I'm thrilled to be able to launch my campaign for the Rio Olympics at such a prestigious event," she said.
Pittman said it was going to be a long, hard road back to track.
"An event like this is the perfect platform to set a benchmark to work off."
The Stawell Gift Carnival begins on Saturday, April 19, with the Gift final on Monday, April 21.
The women's 400m heats will be run on the Sunday and final on the Monday.
