POLICE
It's not quite in our area, but police have charged a 58-year-old man following an armed robbery in Carisbrook last Friday.
It is believed the man attended the Carisbrook Transfer Station shortly before 10.30am and subsequently had an altercation with the male attendant who handed over cash.
The Newstead man was arrested yesterday afternoon and has been charged with armed robbery, assault, assault with a weapon and extortion.
FIRE
Not much to report from Ballarat's fire brigade, although they did attend a residential burnoff in Ballarat East at around 6pm.
People are reminded that fire restrictions are still in place and burnoffs are not allowed until a date which is still to be determined.
AMBULANCE
Paramedics have not reported any trauma cases overnight.
SES
Ballarat's SES crews had a quiet night with not much in the way of wild weather.
V/LINE
Ballarat's V/Line service appears to be running on time this morning with no delays.

Health minister David Davis will be in town to open the redevelopment of Ballarat District Nursing and Healthcare.
