Ballarat breakfast report: April 8

Today is the first in a series of rainy days where we can expect up to 20 millimetres each day. 

Today the temperature will reach a top of 19 degrees. 

The rainy weather looks like it may even stick around until next week, however,  the heavier downpours will occur over the next couple of days.


Ballarat police had nothing of interest occur overnight. 

Elsewhere in the state police spent the night at a the scene of a fatal collision which claimed the life of a woman in Stratford. 

It’s believed the woman was jogging when she was struck by a car around 6.30pm. 

The male driver of the car stopped and alerted emergency services. 

Police are investigating the incident and will prepare a report for the Coroner. 


A quiet night for fire crews with no call-outs to report.


Paramedics reported a quiet night. 


V/Line last night tweeted the 7.28 Wendouree to Southern Cross  service would operate at a reduced capacity.

Coaches will also be available.
