Former East Point defender Martin Anderson will make his debut for the Central Highlands Football League club after missing the opening round victory over Smythesdale.
Springbank coach Sam Giblett told The Courier Anderson would line-up down back, but would be given some freedom with former Brisbane Lion Matt Tyler assuming a key role in defence.
Anderson is likely to be one of a few inclusions into the team at selection tonight with Millikan brothers James and Hugh unavailable and recruit Chris Malone struggling with a hamstring while also having his own commitments aside from football this weekend.
The Tigers will start favourites after beating the Wickers in last year's elimination final and following a strong recruiting campaign.
Like Springbank, Creswick is looking to continue an unbeaten start to the season on Saturday.
The Wickers produced a gritty victory against Clunes in round one and are likely to keep a similar side to the one that prevailed last weekend.
Meanwhile, Dunnstown is preparing for its stand-alone Sunday fixture against Gordon.
The Towners disappointed against Beaufort in the season opener and will be up against an Eagles side that was thumped by Bungaree.
Gordon will tonight name young utility Angus Watts in the team after he missed selection with Bendigo Gold in the VFL.
Watts lands at the Eagles having spent time with the inaugural Gold Coast Suns' academy squad and is expected to play a number of games with the club when not required at VFL level.
