Several offenders broke into the business about 8am.
The director of the business, who din't want to be named, said the offenders were "clearly looking for something in particular".
He said it was lucky no staff were at work during the break-in, with some employees usually arriving about 8.30am.
"There is a bit of damage, because they have smashed through a window," he said.
"At this stage we're still sifting through everything to see what was taken."
It is believed some of the offenders have been arrested.
However, Ballarat police Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Alanna McDonald said no one had been charged.
