The Lady Devils were beaten 3-0 by Women's Premier League side Box Hill United in last night's round two clash.
A goal in the eighth minute was followed by two in the second half to sink the gallant Ballarat girls.
Despite the defeat, Lady Devils coach Rick Romein was particularly happy with the way his side applied pressure and displayed patience, particularly the younger first-game players.
"Our application was of a high standard and our goal for the upcoming season will be to maintain a consistent standard with the young squad that we have at the moment," Romein said.
Ballarat opens its women's state league one campaign with a home clash against Doncaster Rovers on Sunday, April 27.
