Due to other commitments I have not been able to attend any meetings on the Civic Hall debate.
Whose bright idea was it to suggest to have the information centre in the middle of the CBD at the old bank building with just two parks for caravans?
They must not have travelled extensively throughout the country to see what is available at some of the larger cities and towns.
As my husband and I have travelled all over Australia the first thing we look for is the information centre when we enter a town or city that is accessible to park the car and caravan to leave while we visit museums, art galleries, shopping centres and other places of interest.
For tourism the Civic Hall is the ideal place for an information centre with a cafe and toilets. The area also being suitable to leave cars and caravans attached, mobile homes, fifth wheelers, etc. It is the centre hub coming into the city from the four directions, a bus terminal could also be incorporated into this area.
