The league has appointed investigators to look into incidents involving Waubra playing coach Jason Allen during the round one clash against Hepburn and Ballan’s Chris Wilkinson in the Blues’ reserves encounter against Daylesford on the same weekend.
Hepburn is alleging Allen spat in the face of Burra Leigh Santurini, while Wilkinson is alleged to have struck Bulldog Edward Cooper.
Wilkinson re-joined the Blues this season after he was issued with a lifetime ban following a two-week suspension while playing for Sebastopol in 2011.
This penalty put him on the 16-match threshold, which prohibited him from playing any AFL sanctioned Victorian football competition.
He was re-registered last year while still with the Kookaburras.
Both investigations are still ongoing and recommendations will be made to the league following their completion.
League administrator Diane Ryan said players under investigation could continue to play while the process continued.
“The clubs have got five working days to request an investigation from the league and the league then has to appoint an investigator,” Ryan said.
“They have 21 days from the day they are appointed to issue a report to the league with their recommendation.”
Allen and Wilkinson both played in round two and have been named for their respective clubs this weekend.
