Another cold night in Ballarat shows winter is just around the corner.
The mercury dropped to 1.8 degrees at 5.51am this morning.
And today is not going to get much warmer. Ballarat is expected to reach a maximum of 10 degrees, followed by a low of three degrees overnight.
Sunday will be slightly warmer, with a forecast top of 12 degrees.
FIRE
It was a busy night for our fire fighters, with Ballarat City crews called to several jobs.
Crews first attended a call out to a fire at an Ascott Street property at 7.46pm on Friday.
Around 11pm crews were called to a chimney fire at Slaty Creek Road before attending a similar call out on the corner of Morgan and Spencer Street in Sebastopol.
POLICE
A P-plate driver was allegedly detected drink driving in central Ballarat this morning.
Police pulled over the 19-year-old man on Lyons Street North at 1.18am.

Both Ambulance Victoria and SES crews in Ballarat experienced a quiet night last night.
