WEATHER

After a week free from any heavy downpours, this week looks like being the opposite. 

Today we can expect a top of 20 degrees with showers forming late into the day. 

A strong chance of rain is predicted for every day of the week with next weekend in particular looking like a wet one. 

POLICE

Police have confirmed a fatal house fire south of Ararat is not being treated suspicious.

While the deceased is yet to be identified it is believed to be a 47-year-old Maroona man. 

Police were called to the fire in  Maroona around 9pm on Saturday night.  

While extinguishing the fire, CFA members located a body inside. 

Police will repair a report for the coroner. 

FIRE

Fire crews had three call-outs overnight to small fires within Ballarat. 

The fires were caused by residents burning off piles of leaves and small bushes. 

AMBULANCE

Nothing of interest to report from local paramedics. 

TRAINS

Everything seems to be running smoothly on the Ballarat line this morning with no delays to report.
