Coming up against their suburban counterparts on Sunday, Sebastopol Yellow dominated the match from the outset, holding a 3-0 lead at the break before bolting home with a further five goals to claim an 8-0 win.
Jessica Steike claimed a hat-trick in the victory, while Catherine Wylie-O’Brien netted herself a brace.
The result sees Yellow sit on top of the table, with seven wins from as many matches, while their Blue counterparts sit at the bottom of the table.
In other BDSA women’s division one matches on Sunday, North United were simply dominant in a 10-1 victory over Warrnambool, while Forest Rangers and North United played out a highly entertaining 4-0 draw.
Sebastopol Yellow will now have the chance to further cement its position on top of the table, travelling to take on Warrnambool next week.
And with the North United Black and Forest Rangers, who sit second and third on the table respectively, coming up against each other next week, it will mean Yellow should be able to further capitalise on its great start to the season.
