Showers aside, we will see a mild top of 17 degrees and partly cloudy. A shower or two. Winds west to northwesterly 20 to 25 km/h tending west to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day then becoming light in the evening.

POLICE

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 21-year-old Fulham man following the death of 35-year-old John Starling in Darley in June 2013.

Mr Starling was located deceased outside a residential property on Jonathan Drive around 1am on 8 June.

The Fulham man will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 22 May charged with one count of manslaughter.

FIRE

A Ballarat fire crew was called out to Redan following reports of youths lighting fires next to a road.

One crew attended the corner of Ascot and Darling Streets at 2am, however, the suspected youths had since fled.

AMBULANCE

Paramedics had nothing of interest to report
