The Specialist School students took part in activities last week, including egg and spoon races, soccer, dancing, pin the tail on the donkey and ten pin bowling.
Ballarat Specialist School assistant principal Carol Anderson said the program had been running for eight years.
“We have about 80 uni students come for a semester to work one-on-one with students. They write the programs,” Ms Anderson said.
“It’s a really popular event. The uni students come once a week and part of their assessment was to organise the sports day.”
Fed Uni physical education third year students Justin Stojanovski and Emily Sloan said the semester had been rewarding.
“We had to meet weekly and plan activities for wet and dry weather,” Mr Stojanovski said.
“We also had to make sure we catered for all kids. It’s taught me how to plan and manage people.
Ms Sloan said she focused on planning inclusive environments.
