Birmingham sets 3000m PB in Stockholm

BALLARAT’S Collis Birmingham has bounced back from the disappointment of the London Olympic Games with a 3000 metres personal best in Stockholm.

Birmingham produced the PB in finishing eighth in a Diamond League meet.

He clocked 7:35.45.

This bettered the mark he set in Rieti, Italy, two years ago by more than three seconds.

(Kenya) won a personal best of 7:30.43.

Olympic 5000m bronze medalist Thomas Longosiwa (Kenya) was ninth.

Birmingham contested the 5000m in London, but failed to qualify for the final.
