IT was a chilly start for those up walking the dog this morning, with temperatures hovering around 5 degrees.
And the City won't get much warmer today, as the mercury is tipped to rise to just nine degrees - about 3 degrees cooler than previous days.

FIRES
Fire crews had nothing to report, however Senior Station Officer Shane Phillips urged residents who were using clothes dryers and heaters during the winter to make sure they were clean and free of defects.
"If people have any concerns they need to have them services by appropriate qualified people," he said.
"If people are drying clothes inside make sure they're not close to the heater."
Mr Phillips reminded residents to change their clock and smoke alarm batteries.
"People need to do that as soon as possible to make sure they're working so they will alert them in the event of an emergency," he said.
POLICE
Police had nothing to report from overnight.
Ambulances
A similarly quiet night was had by the paramedics, with nothing to report yet.
V/Line
