A man who was dropped off at the Ballarat Base Hospital with a serious gunshot wound to his leg is refusing to cooperate with police.
The Ballarat man, 42, arrived at the hospital just before 9.30pm on Sunday evening with a gunshot wound to his left leg.
Police were called to the hospital just after 9.30pm on Sunday, but the man has so far refused to cooperate with police or reveal how his injuries occurred.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belle Nolan said Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
She said the man remains at the hospital in a serious condition.
