THE rain held off. Sadly for Lleyton Hewitt though, age and experience did not help him. After a terrific battle, with Aussie fans giving him 110 per cen support he lost in five sets to Jerry Janowicz. Several years ago Hewitt would have won in straight sets, but we cannot turn back the clock. This might be his last Wimbledon. If so, what a credit he has done to himself and Australia.

Players are not getting their freebies this year. In other years when they have gone onto the court with the wrong shirt, the referees' office has supplied them with the correct one. Also caps. Now the players have to pay for them. Interestingly, the supply cupboard is still full.
