Lit bits: Writers wanted for winter festival

The National Portrait  Gallery is calling all creative enthusiasts for responses in prose, poetry or performance to the photograph, Winter Time, by Dr Julian Smith as part of its Winter Festival celebrations. Successful contributors will be invited to share or perform their piece at the Winter Festival on Sunday,  August 3 from 3 to 4pm. On the day there will be a First Prize and Highly Commended award decided by the honorary judge, Associate Professor Paul Hetherington, Writing, the University of Canberra. Entries close on July 13.
