The Ballarat beauty salon owner has reached the national finals and is competing this month for the title of Miss World 2014.
The lucky winner will travel to London for the international finals representing Australia.
Kristy-Lee, 19, is busy fund-raising for the event.
"Fund raising is a huge part of Miss World," she said.
"I will be holding a girls' night in, a night of entertainment with a hypnotist and also just rattling tins at local pubs including the Peter Lalor Hotel."
Kristy-Lee said the Miss World pageant "not only shows the beauty on the outside, but also the beauty on the inside of many talented women who want to be a part of making a difference by raising money for charity."
The owner of Le Belle Beauty in Doveton Street North said it was an exciting opportunity.
"So far I have already learnt just how giving an compassionate people can still be," he said.
"I think we all doubt others when it comes to being giving and caring, but when you have the opportunity to be a part of something as amazing as the Miss World pageant, you really get to see the good side of so many supportive people."
"Other than that, I am just so happy that I have been able to raise money for different causes and hopefully it will also help me further my modelling career."
