Melbourne City confirmed Morshead Park as the venue for the round of 32 match under lights in Ballarat on Tuesday.
City's CEO Scott Munn joined with Ballarat mayor Cr Josh Morris and Member for Western Victoria David O'Brien to make the announcement at the Ballarat Community Soccer Facility.
This will be Melbourne City's second match in Ballarat this year.
City played Ballarat Red Devils in a practice match last month.
Munn said that visit had prompted playing the FFA Cup game at the venue.
He said head coach John van’t Schip had been so impressed by the playing surface, he had asked about the availability of the Morshead Park for the Cup tie.
The City of Ballarat jumped at the opportunity.
Cr Morris said having Ballarat host an inaugural FFA Cup fixture was exciting for the region.
“To see two A-League teams fighting it out right here in Ballarat is beyond our wildest expectations,” Mr. Morris said.
“I can’t wait to welcome Melbourne City FC to Morshead Park, and I am certain that the town will turn out to support them.”
