Ballarat breakfast report: July 17


There are just 47 days until Ballarat has powered through the cold tunnel of winter.

The mercury dipped to 1.9 degrees over night, however Weatherzone said it felt like minus 1.1 degrees.

Partly cloudy today with a top of eight degrees. A shower or two and possible hail from the late morning until this evening.

The chance of a thunderstorm during this afternoon and evening. Winds west to northwesterly 35 to 45 km/h turning southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the evening.


An interstate caravan thief who targeted Invermay residents has been caught.

Sunbury police charged the man allegedly responsible for stealing two caravans and attempting to steal another two. 

One of the caravans has been linked back to a theft on July 4 in Invermay. Details.


Fire crews attended a false alarm at Clarendon College just after 5.30pm on Wednesday. 


Paramedics have nothing of interest to report from over night.
