The New Zealand-bred filly saluted in the Redwood Classic for two-year-olds last season.
Now she tackles the group 1 $75,000 Victoria Trotters' Derby, 2690m, at the Carisbrook circuit on the last day of the three-day all-trotting Redwood Carnival.
Daenerys Targaryen has developed a real liking for Maryborough since arriving in the Bolinda stable of Brent Lilley.
NZ's Mark Purdon was the trainer-driver Daenerys Targaryen in the Redwood.
She then moved into Lilley's team and her two wins since have each been at Maryborough.
The daughter of Majestic Son has been racing consistently without winning of late.
She has had top three finishes in her latest three runs, including a third in the group 2 Holmfield.
Daenerys Targaryen is going to have to run right up to her best to take out a derby in which fillies have a strong hand.
Polemaker Claudys Princess takes an outstanding record into the race, with eight wins on end, including three group 1s - NSW Oaks, Victoria Oaks and Vicbred Super Series final.
Illawong Helios is another filly.
Trained by Ross Sugars, Illawong Helios has had to settle for being the bridesmaid with her latest three runs being seconds to Claudys Princess.
The Redwood Carnival, which began on Friday, continues with a non-TAB meeting on Saturday and rolls into the big feature races on Sunday.
Australian country music legend James Blundell and rising star Courtney Conway will entertain patrons on Saturday night, with Conway backing up with a performance after the last race on Sunday.

EMMA Stewart has her work cut out if she is to run capture her first Victorian harness racing trainers' premiership.
The Smythes Creek mentor has been in a head-to-head battle with Mildura's Shayne Cramp for most of the season.
However, eight wins on an eight-race card for Cramp at Mildura on Tuesday has enabled him to open up a handy lead.
He was sitting on 136 on Friday - 13 clear of Stewart with six weeks of the season to go.
Cramp has dominated the Mildura scene this season and with another six meetings at the Sunraysia track for the remainder of 2013-14 Cramp is going to be just about impossible to run down.
Stewart, who was third to Cramp and Glenn Douglas last season and second to Douglas in 2011-12, took her season tally to 123 with Tuscan Breeze ($5.10) in the David McPherson C1 Pace, 1710m, in Ballarat on Thursday night.
This gives the three-year-old three wins on end and six wins in 29 career starts.
HANDY two-year-old Thebackpagescribe opened her winning account for Ballarat trainer-driver Michael Stanley at Horsham on Wednesday.
By Sportswriter, the well-named gelding is the third winner out of unraced mare Victoria Street. He is a half-brother to group 1 winner and stablemate Blucolla Tigerpie (19 wins) and Willbe Doc (7 wins).
