BALLARAT Lady Devils will attempt to hold onto eighth spot of the Football Federation Victoria women's state league one ladder this Sunday.
The Ballarat Scrap Metal Lady Devils host Berwick City at Morshead Park in a must win round 11 clash between the eighth and ninth ranked sides.
Just two points separate the pair, with Ballarat officials hoping for a win after last week's disappointing draw against Doncaster.
A victory could haul the Lady Reds within one-point of seventh placed Keilor Park and firmly out of reach of the relegation zone.
There is as much action off the field as on it for the Lady Devils this week, with key players Holly Williamson and Sophie Emota both having major surgeries.
Williamson, the senior captain, had surgery on a labral tear in her hip, while striker Emota had a season-ending operation on her knee.
However, selectors will have a full squad of remaining players to choose from, with veteran Beth Taylor getting through her first game from a long lay-off relatively unscathed.
Ballarat's juniors continue to impress, with Claire Demuth promoted to the development squad from the under-16s for the remainder of the season.
The Lady Devils' under-16 squad will play ladder leader Sandringham at Brighton Grammar at 1pm on Sunday.
