Officials called time after Pascoe Vale striker Luca Santilli came off second-best in a head clash and was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The Reds were leading 2-0 at the 67-minute mark.
Santilli was the second Pascoe Vale player stretchered off in the second-half, with goalkeeper Stefaan Sardelic suffering a suspected broken leg less than 10 minutes prior after a heavy contest with Ballarat's Liam Harding.
The outcome of the match was met with raw emotion from both sides, culminating in a verbal stoush between Pascoe Vale coach Vitale Ferrante and Red Devils officials just moments after play was cancelled.
Red Devils officials are waiting on a referee report to determine the outcome of the match, but expect it to be called abandoned and played at a later date.
