Rory McIlroy wins British Open

A year after missing the cut at the British Open plunged him into despair, Rory McIlroy has joined Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only golfers to win three legs of the career grand slam before turning 26. With a young man’s enthusiasm, he declared that his next plan was not to go to Disneyland but rather to ‘try and win as many tournaments and as many majors as I can, because I feel like there's a lot more left in me.’ As if he hadn’t already done enough to make the others feel old.
