Ballarat breakfast report: July 22

In what could be the coldest morning of the 2014, more than a dozen fire units are battling a blaze in Parwan.

Be sure to hose down windscreens and be wary of ice on the roads in and around town as the morning low was -2.6 degrees.

There will be fog and frost early this morning leading to a sunny afternoon and a top of 11 degrees.

One Ballarat resident summed up the weather rather well on Twitter this morning:

Local police attended the scene of an aggravated burglary in Delacombe over night.

Units were called to a Lowan Street address at 11.15pm.

More details pending.

Fire crews have brought a blaze at Parwan, 10 kilometres south of Bacchus Marsh, under control.

It is believed to the fire started in a machine at Parwan Raceway.

A dozen crews responded to the blaze.

It is the second time in two weeks fire crews have been called to the location.

Paramedics did not attend any trauma cases over night.

Due to new Regional Rail Link platforms at Sunshine Station, trains from Ballarat will now arrive and set-down on platform 3.

If you are travelling from Sunshine to Ballarat, trains will pick up from Platform 4.
