WEATHER

This morning's low of four degrees felt like a heatwave blowing through Ballarat after waking from sub-zero temperatures for most of the week.

There will be some cloud and a little drizzle here and there with a top of nine degrees.

Winds north to northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h.

POLICE

Two men have been charged after the robbery of a trailer from the front of a young couple's home. Details.

Local police had nothing of interest to report.

FIRE

Two fire crews were called to Buninyong just after 6.30pm on Wednesday when a child was locked in a car.

Police, ambulance, fire and RACV were called to the scene before the three-year-old was freed within minutes.

Units from Ballarat City, Ballarat, Glen Park and Kingston attended a false alarm at Creswick Novotel Resort just before 3.30am.

AMBULANCE

Paramedics had no trauma incidents to report from over night.
